Adverse Prenatal Diagnosis

If you were recently given an adverse or terminal prenatal diagnosis for your child, you may not know where to turn. Here are a few resources that may be able to help you navigate this difficult time.

These resources are all Catholic and therefore uphold the dignity of life in all its stages.

  • Be Not Afraid provides “comprehensive, practical, and peer-based support to parents experiencing a prenatal diagnosis and carrying to term.” Although Be Not Afraid itself is run out of the Diocese of Charlotte, North Carolina, the website also provides a handful of other resources across the country, and the stories can be helpful to anyone in a similar situation.
  • Isaiah’s Promise has a great resource page.
  • Prenatal Partners for Life
  • Elizabeth Ministry has a booklet available entitled “Our Unborn Baby Has a Problem”, which guides couples who receive a prenatal diagnosis.
  • Choosing Life when the Prognosis is Death is an article from the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s Catholic Review.
